Very fun game, I hope to see it updated / continued in the future, though it seems like the creator of Familiarity is on a bit of a hiatus.

It's said that this game was inspired by "Witch's Familiar" by Perri, and I can certainly see that. I think it lives up to it rather well if I were to bother comparing the two, but I don't like to stick two games up at eachother.

The main character, you, gets caught up in some kind of accident, and gets saved by the witch, who turned you into a familiar.

What bits of story are there so far is pretty cute, and enjoyable.

I'm glad I ran into this trying to find "Witch's Familiar" before finding out that game had been deleted by its Dev, Perri.

I certainly suggest playing this yourself.

Well, that's my little review. As of me typing this it seems Transmorph hasn't updated the game for a while. I'll have to bookmark this and periodically check in to see if they update it again later.

Until then, I'll simply wish them well, seeing as it looks like Transmorph got ill at some point judging from a comment they left. It'd be a shame for yet another rather nice (and kind of sweet) game like this to collect dust.

I think I'm up for a story where I get to be the adorable cat-person. And I'm glad to see another person who totally gets what makes cat-people the best; the stuff about needlessly pouncing on inanimate objects, being hyper for no reason, forgetting all other priorities when faced with sleeping or pets... It's perfect.

I hope I get to romance someone at some point, 'cause I really like romance.

I loved the content that was there!!! A lot! I want more, and I hope you are doing well!

(+2)

Hello! I absolutely love this game. And I hope your health has gotten better!

(+1)

A little bit. I'm not teetering on the brink of death, but still suffering a persistent fever that makes it hard to focus. Way too easy to lose whole days to a daze. And I'm trying to fend off the depression of losing a whole month of accomplishing anything.

There was another game with a premise similar to this where you become a witches familiar. Last I recall, it was abandoned, and I can't even remember the name of it to check, but I do recall enjoying it. I'm glad to see someone else making a game in a similar vein.

Witch's Familiar was actually an inspiration for Familiarity. Premise really spoke to me, so I wanted to make my own take on it. (With an emphasis on cuteness and happy family moments.)

Though with the way my health is getting in the way of writing, I may have to hope that I just manage to inspire others instead. The rest of chapter 2 was supposed to be done already.

Another cute update, thanks for your work! take as much time as you need.

(+1)

This is nice

is this game still in development?

(+3)

Yes. I've just hit a bout of writer's block that is making it take longer than it should.

Willing to accept help? I love this game.

(+3)

This has got to be one of my favourite games on the Internet AND ITS SO CUUUUUTE!!!

(+1)

will you add more control to the gender selection stuff? ie feminine male or masculine female sort of options? or is that too difficult with where the progress is now?

(+1)

There's outfit selection, which might have expanded options in the future. You can currently play a female character in a punk rock leather jacket and tattered jeans or a male character in a cute skirt or skort, depending on aesthetic choice. (That's not a permanent choice; you'll be able to change your mind later in the game.)

The player character is young enough that they're going to look androgynous regardless. You can think of the prologue dream mirror showing a possible future version of the character, not a set in stone one; the game's not likely to be on a timescale long enough for it be relevant. (In other words, MC's gonna stay a cute kid the whole story.)

I do want to leave plenty of room for head canon, so most descriptions of the MC are kept relatively vague. Open to interpretation and all equally valid.

The text boxes do not work.

What browser are you using? They worked on Firefox and Chrome, but I haven't tested any others.

(+5)

This really soothes my anxiety! Thank you so much!

(+7)

Really cute prologue and hope you can continue!

(+2)

neat ! i was still kinda confused if theyre like mostly cat, human, or something in between sometimes, but then again im reading this late at night

(+8)

The confusion's actually intentional, since the idea is that the player is in the shoes (and/or paws) of the main character, and they spend most of the prologue under anesthesia-like effects. That persistent brain fog, where they don't even notice that they have a tail for a while...

(+2)

ohh thanks for clearing that up, I thought I was just reading weird

(+4)

I. Love. This.
It's so good
I had so much difficulty in choosing whether or not I should go for instinct or magic, in the end I've chose not to reset but to just do whatever my impulse is(usually the one that I feel like is best for my character) and deal with whatever happens after.
I hope your writer's block doesn't last long, but also just take your time nobody is rushing you, I hope you have a wonderful day!
(This is structured so similar to something I'm writing so I understand how hard it can be to basically create a whole new world and give people actual personality T-T)

(+7)

this was so adorable, I love cats and to be a cat myself was wonderful :D I'm looking forward to more mischievous cat-astrophes xD

(+5)

oh my doodles this feels so nostalgic and relatable for some reason and it's so cute!!!!!!!!

(+2)

cute!

(+5)

Very cute!

I can't tell if I like head rubs even before dying, or it has to do with my after-dying...

This game is incredibly cute. The writing itself wasn't anything remarkable, however, it doesn't need to be. I could tell that you had a lot of fun when writing the dialog. The characters themselves seem quite whimsical regarding the environment. I understand that writing can take a lot of time. I often have to force myself to write as well. I'll be excited to play it once more comes out. Just keep in mind, however to take as long as you need. And if you can, the best advice that I can give about keeping motivation is to at least try to write something every day.

Remember, you're doing a good job, and you don't need to be perfect. This isn't some sort of test, so you can have as much fun as you want. I wish you the best of luck for any future endeavors.
